Mia, a bright and curious 7th grader, found herself overwhelmed as exam season
approached. Her desk was piled with books, and her mind raced with thoughts like, “How
will I finish everything?”
One evening, her older brother Alex noticed her frustration and decided to help. “Mia,” he
said, “let me teach you some tricks I used to ace my exams without stressing out.”
Alex grabbed a notebook and helped Mia create a study plan. They divided her syllabus into
small, manageable sections and scheduled topics for each day. “This way,” Alex
explained, “you’ll feel accomplished as you check off each task.”
The next day, Alex introduced Mia to active learning. Instead of just reading, Mia started
creating colorful flashcards, drawing mind maps, and even teaching her stuffed animals
what she had learned. “Wow!” she thought. “This makes studying fun and easier to
remember.”
A week later, Alex handed Mia a set of old exam papers. “Practice these,” he suggested.
“You’ll get used to the format and see which topics need more focus.” Mia hesitated at first
but soon found herself feeling more confident with each paper she completed.
But Alex didn’t stop there. “Don’t forget to take breaks, Mia. Your brain needs rest to stay
sharp,” he reminded her. Together, they followed the 25-5 rule: 25 minutes of studying,
then 5 minutes of dancing to their favorite tunes.
By exam week, Mia felt ready and surprisingly calm. “I can do this!” she thought. And she
did.
Through Alex’s guidance, Mia realized that exams weren’t about stress but about smart
preparation—and her success proved it.
